What is the Empower Hive curriculum based on?
Our curriculum consist of mini, bite-sized lessons that centers Black children, families, and culture. It is rooted in literacy, history, STEM, and wellness with affirming stories, creative learning, and joyful engagement at every level.
Why are there only 8 lessons available right now?
We’re launching with 8 foundational lessons, each one crafted with care and leveled across K–2, 3–5, 6–8, and 9–12. These first lessons are just the beginning. More content is on the way!
Are the lessons different across grade levels?
Yes! Each of the first 8 lessons follows a consistent theme, but every grade level receives its own vocabulary, reading level, comprehension questions, and writing extensions all tailored to their stage. Future lessons will explore a wider variety of age appropriate topics, with unique content for each grade band.
How often will new lessons be added?
New lessons will be added regularly throughout the year starting with a monthly rollout plan. Our focus is on quality, accuracy, and cultural authenticity in every resource we publish.
What subjects do you cover?
We focus on four main learning branches: Literacy, History, STEM, and Wellness. All are intentionally crafted through the lens of Black identity and empowerment.
Do I need a membership to access lessons?
Yes. Once we launch, members will be able to log in and access full lessons, and interactive activities for their selected grade levels. We do however, have free lessons on the site for you to view if you would like to see the structure of our lessons before joining.
